TM wishes to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad (“Celcom”) had on 6 July 2006 been served with the following sealed copies of Writ of Summons and Statements of Claims in respect of:
(1) KUALA LUMPUR HIGH COURT (CIVIL DIVISION)
CIVIL SUIT NO. S4 - 23 - 46 – 2006

A suit filed by Dato’ Saizo Abdul Ghani (trading under the name and style of Airtime Telecommunication) (“DS”) in the Kuala Lumpur High Court.

DS seeks against Celcom and Kamsani bin Hj Ahmad (“Kamsani”), an employee of Celcom, general damages in the sum of RM15 million for the alleged libel and breach of contract, a further sum of RM15 million in exemplary and aggravated damages for the alleged libel and an injunction to prevent Celcom and Kamsani from distributing or publishing any letters or content similar thereto, interest and costs.
Celcom is to enter an appearance, through its solicitors, within eight (8) days from date of service of the Writ of Summons.
Celcom is in the midst of taking legal advice from its solicitors with regards to the said suit and will instruct its solicitors to vigorously defend the same.
(2) KUALA LUMPUR HIGH COURT (CIVIL DIVISION)

CIVIL SUIT NO. S3 - 23 - 45 - 2006
A suit filed by Asmawi bin Muktar (trading under the name and style of GM Telecommunication & Trading) (“AM”) in the Kuala Lumpur High Court.
AM seeks against Celcom and Kamsani general damages in the sum of RM10 million for the alleged libel and breach of contract, a further sum of RM9 million in exemplary and aggravated damages for the alleged libel and an injunction to prevent Celcom and Kamsani from distributing or publishing any letters or content similar thereto, and interest and costs.
Celcom is to enter an appearance, through its solicitors, within eight (8) days from date of service of the Writ of Summons.
Celcom is in the midst of taking legal advice from its solicitors with regards to the said suit and will instruct its solicitors to vigorously defend the same.
