Circumstances by reason of which change has occurred 1. Purchase of 2,326,200 and disposal of 465,200 shares for discretionary mandates of Alliance Capital Asset Management Sdn. Bhd. ("ACAM"), a subsidiary of Alliance Merchant Bank Berhad ("AMBB"). AMBB is a subsidiary of Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad, which is in turn an indirect subsidiary of Malaysian Plantations Berhad ("MPlant"). Temasek is deemed to have an interest of approximately 30% in the voting shares of MPlant.

2. Disposal of 32,600 shares for discretionary mandates of KLCS Asset Management Sdn. Bhd. ("KLCSAM"). KLCSAM is a subsidiary of Kuala Lumpur City Securities Sdn. Bhd., which is in turn a subsidiary of AMBB.

Remarks :
1) The total number of securities of 177,173,400 includes 8,148,200 underlying shares in covered warrants purchased in the name of HSBC (M) Trustee Bhd as trustee for discretionary mandates managed by Hwang-DBS Investment Management Bhd ("HDIM"). HDIM is a subsidiary of Hwang-DBS (Malaysia) Bhd which is in turn approximately 23% owned by DBS Vickers Securities (Malaysia) Pte. Ltd. ("DBSVM"). DBSVM is a subsidiary of DBS Group Holdings Limited, which Temasek owned approximately 28%. Temasek is deemed to have an interest in the shares of Telekom Malaysia Berhad ("TM") managed by HDIM pursuant to S6A(4)(c) of the Companies Act, 1965.

2) The percentage holding of 5.22% was based on TM's total issued and paid-up ordinary shares as at 19 December 2005.

3) This notification was received by TM on 20 December 2005.

4) This announcement comprise of three (3) parts and this constitute as the first part of the said announcement.
