"....Chennai-based Aircel was in talks with the two telcos with a view of taking a strategic partner..."
With respect to the above statement, we wish to confirm that Telekom Malaysia Berhad ("TM") is currently not engaged in any talks with Aircel to be its strategic partner.
However, we wish to reiterate that TM is continuously reviewing all available options in respect of our investment strategy in India to complement our South Asian Investment in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
We refer to the above news article appearing in The Star, Starbiz, page 1,
Saturday, 17 December 2005, a copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence,
