We refer to the letter from the Exchange dated 12 July 2001 on the above news article appearing on the website of The Business Times, Singapore, on Thursday, 12 July 2001, wherein it was stated as follows :-

"...Telekom may take over Sistem Televisyen Malaysia (TV3) ... in a RM700 million (S$337.9 million) deal."

We wish to inform the Exchange that the above statement was not an official statement from Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and it must have been made pursuant to rumours and market speculations.

Currently, TM is not engaged in any discussion or negotiation with TV3 regarding the matter as reported.

In the circumstances, TM is unable to make an announcement as requested by the Exchange.

your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence
which is reproduced as follows:-

million (S$337.9 million) deal."
