The following sentence appearing in the above news article on Bloomberg, on Thursday, 19 July 2001, refers:

"Telekom Malaysia Bhd. (P.TEL) is considering whether to invest in Thailand's metropolitan fixed-line operators TelecomAsia Corp. PCL (H.TCA) or the provincial fixed-line operator Thai Telephone & Telecommunication PCL (H.TTC), to maintain its presence in Thai Market, the Nation reports, quoting Julpas Kruesopon, a former executive of Samart Corp. Telekom Malaysia Berhad wish to deny the contents of the above reports in its entirety.

We wish to also inform the Exchange that Telekom Malaysia Berhad has not appointed nor authorised Mr Julpas Kruesopon as its representative for any deals in Thailand or any other countries.
