The letter dated 2 November 2001 from the Exchange regarding the following sentences appearing in the above news article in Business Times, pages 1 and 17, on Friday, 2 November, refers:

"TELEKOM Malaysia Bhd is working on carving out a bigger slice of the multi-billion-ringgit mobile communications market for itself through the acquisition of a strategic stake in Technology Resources Industries (TRI)."

We wish to inform the Exchange that the Company and Technology Resources Industries Berhad are not currently engaged in negotiations on the above matter and there were no offers or commitments made by either parties.

on Friday, 2 November 2001, a copy of which is enclosed for your reference.

sentences, which are reproduced as follows:-
