Our reply to the Exchange dated 25 January 2002, and the letter dated 28 January 2002 from the Exchange regarding the following sentences appearing on The Edge on Monday, 28 January 2002, refers:

"Telekom Malaysia Bhd is keen to take over Technology Resources Bhd (TRI) that controls cellular phone operator Celcom (Malaysia ) Sdn Bhd..."

We wish to clarify to the Exchange that Telekom Malaysia Berhad ("TM") is seriously considering its consolidation opportunities to enhance its mobile business. This would include acquiring an interest in Technology Resources Industries Berhad to the extent that such an exercise would be commercially viable to TM and its shareholders.

January 2002, a copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence,
which is reproduced as follows:-
