The letter dated 5 March 2002 from the Exchange regarding the following sentences appearing in the above news article in Business Times on Tuesday, 5 March 2002, refers: -

1. "... Telekom Malaysia Bhd planned to acquire a strategic stake in the company."

2. "... Telekom would make a RM2.80 a share bid for the company..."

We refer to our earlier reply dated 29 January 2002, to the query from the Exchange and wish to reiterate that Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) is seriously considering its consolidation opportunities to enhance its mobile business which would include acquiring an interest in Technology Resources Industries Berhad (TRI) to the extent that such an exercise would be commercially viable to TM and its shareholders.

We wish to confirm that the statement as per the second sentence above is not true.

on Tuesday, 5 March 2002, a copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined
sentences, which are reproduced as follows:-
