We refer to our reply dated 25 March 2002 to the Exchange's letter regarding the following sentence appearing in the Business Times on 22 March 2002, and wish to clarify that the statement is not true and is merely market speculation.

"TELEKOM Malaysia Bhd is believed to be planning a bond issue of some RM5 billion, which ... is part of preparations to launch a takeover of rival Technology Resources Industries Bhd."

We refer to the above news article appearing in Business Times, pages 1 & 4, on
Friday, 22 March 2002, a copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence,
which is reproduced as follows:-
"TELEKOM Malaysia Bhd is believed to be planning a bond issue of some RM5
