We refer to the Exchange's letter dated 5 June 2002 regarding the following sentences appearing in The Star, Business section on Wednesday, 5 June 2002: -

1. "Telekom Malaysia Bhd chairman Muhammad Radzi Mansor on Monday met directors of PT Indonesian Satellite Corp, a company in which the Indonesian government plans to sell shares."
2. "So far, Telekom Malaysia is the only one who has formally expressed interest in the Indosat stake..."

We wish to clarify that the meeting between the Chairman of Telekom Malaysia with directors of PT Indonesian Satellite Corp was held as part of the program during the Indonesia-Malaysia Business Forum. The meeting was to establish and strengthen cooperative business relations between regional entities.

Telekom Malaysia wishes to deny having made any formal expression of interest in the Indosat stake.

We refer to the above news article appearing in The Star, Business section,
page 3, on Wednesday, 5 June 2002, a copy of which is enclosed for your
reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined
sentences, which are reproduced as follows:-
