We refer to the Exchange's letter dated 26 June 2002 on the following news article appearing in The Star, Business section, page 3, on Wednesday, 26 June 2002 :

"TELEKOM Malaysia Bhd will make a mandatory general offer (GO) for Technology Resources Industries Bhd (TRI) at RM2.75 a share if the merger agreement between their cellular phone units can be worked out and signed before Oct 29, said Telekom Chief Executive Datuk Dr Khir Abdul Rahman."

Telekom Malaysia Berhad ("TM") wishes to clarify that, as announced on 25 June 2002, TM would have an obligation to undertake a mandatory general offer for the shares of Technology Resources Industries Berhad ("TRI") not owned by TM at not less than RM2.75 per share and announce the same under the Malaysian Code of Take-overs and Mergers ("Code"), if an agreement for the merger of TM Cellular Sdn. Bhd. and Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad under TRI is executed by 29 October 2002.

page 3, on Wednesday, 26 June 2002, a copy of which is enclosed for your
reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence,
which is reproduced as follows:-
