Telekom Malaysia Berhad (“TM”) is pleased to announce that it has, pursuant to its letter dated 18 July 2002, written to Technology Resources Industries Berhad (“TRI”) to initiate discussions with TRI on, amongst others, a framework for the potential business combination of TM Cellular Sdn Bhd (“TM Touch”) and Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad (“Celcom”) and a timetable for the transaction process.


TM looks forward to the commencement of a transaction process with TRI and to the finalisation of a structure for the potential business combination of TM Touch and Celcom at the earliest possible date.
