• The query from the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange ("the Exchange") on 16 September 2002 in respect of the following statement appearing in The Asian Wall Street Journal, page A3, on Monday, 16 September 2002, refers:-
  
  "...Time dotCom's nationwide fiber-optic network ... which is likely to be sold in coming months to national telephone utility Telekom Malaysia Bhd."
  
  We wish to inform the Exchange that Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) is not aware of any plans to purchase Time dotCom's nationwide fiber-optic network and that the acquisition of the said fiber-optic network does not fit into TM's overall Group growth strategy.

We refer to the above news article appearing in The Asian Wall Street Journal,
page A3, on Monday, 16 September 2002, a copy of which is enclosed for your
reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence,
which is reproduced as follows:-
"... Time dotCom's nationwide fiber-optic network ... which is likely to be
sold in coming months to national telephone utility Telekom Malaysia Bhd."
