“Khazanah Nasional Bhd…… will consider combining telecommunications companies in which it owns stakes, including Telekom Malaysia Bhd and Time dotCom Bhd.”
We wish to inform the Exchange that in response to the above news report, Khazanah Nasional Berhad (Khazanah) has issued a press statement on 11 October 2004, to clarify that the said news report is inaccurate and misleading and categorically stated that currently, Khazanah has no intention of merging TM and Time dotCom Berhad.
TM would also like to clarify that on its part, there has been no initiative to acquire or merge with Time dotCom Berhad.
We refer to the above article appearing in The Edge, pages 72 and 75 on Monday,
11 October 2004, a copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence,
which is reproduced as follows:-
" ... there has been occasional talk about Malaysia's leading print media
company, Star Publications (M) Bhd, buying a TV company."
