| Working experience and occupation | He began his career with the Federal Treasury in April 1973 as Assistant Secretary in the Contract and Supply Division. In 1978, he was appointed as Assistant Director for Budget in Treasury (acting Senior Grade). He later served in Public Service Department holding a Group Post from 1981 to 1983. He later held the office of Principal Assistant Secretary in Contract and Supply Division in the Ministry of Finance for a duration of four years. Subsequently, in 1987 he was transferred to the Finance and Administration Division in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports as Principal Assistant Secretary. He later held the same post in Parliament Department in 1991. He became the Assistant Director for the Socio-Economic Research Unit in the Prime Minister's Department in 1991 and was appointed Director of PUSMADI in the same department a year later. In November 1992 Dato' Haji Abdul Rahim became the Director, Registration for Federal Territory of the National Registration Department, for the Home Ministry. He later moved to Identification Card Division in 1993. In 1994 he was seconded to the Malaysian Institute of Islamic Understanding (IKIM) as the Secretary where he held the position for two years. He was the State Financial Officer for the state of Perlis in 1996 and then for the state of Pahang in 1998. He later became the State Secretary for Pahang in 2001. In October 2004 he was appointed as the Deputy Secretary General, Treasury (Operation) in the Ministry of Finance, a position he holds until today. |
