We refer to the query of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange ("the Exchange") in respect of the following statement appearing on page 4 of the Sin Chew Business Section, Sin Chew Daily on Wednesday, 17 September 2003:-

"...........Telekom 's owned TMNet and Jaring are expected to merge within this year",

and wish to confirm that Telekom Malaysia Berhad ("TM") would be discussing with the relevant parties to agree on the terms and conditions of the proposed merger.

We will announce to the Exchange as soon as the said terms and conditions are finalised.

Business section, page 4, on Wednesday, 17 September 2003, a copy of which is
enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence
which states that Telekom's owned TMNet and Jaring are expected to merge
within this year.
In accordance with the Exchange's Corporate Disclosure Policy, you are
requested to furnish the Exchange with an announcement for public release
confirming or denying the above reported article and in particular the
