We refer to our announcements dated 29 December 2010, 3 January 2011 and 6 January 2011 with respect to the Settlement entered into between Alcatel Lucent and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Department of Justice (DoJ) and the formation of a Board Sub-Committee (BSC) of the Board Audit Committee (BAC) of TM to conduct an independent internal investigation into the alleged improper payments to TM employees. TM has further announced on 2 February 2011 of the dissolution of the BSC since its primary objective has been achieved.
We are pleased to inform that we have concluded the internal investigation which was performed as exhaustively possible by KPMG Corporate Services Sdn Bhd (KPMG) and our TM Special Affairs Unit of TM Group Internal Audit Division. In view thereof, the said Report has been submitted to Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on 1 March 2011. TM will continue to cooperate with MACC in its investigations relating to this case.
